Karakter Bar (previously Pavilion) is scheduled to open in May 2019.
We just got the news and are happy to share it with you!
The former summer bar, which stood on the exact same spot, and has been serving locals and tourists for the last 15 years, has blown away the cobwebs and made room for a breath of fresh air. Since previous owners were looking for someone to bring back the former glory of this once must visit establishment in the wider Bohinj area, we were eager to make this happen.
Karakter Bar with it's first class location, just footsteps away from the magnificent lake Bohinj, surrounded by the mountain tops of the Julian Alps and right next to the monument of the first 4 men to climb Mt. Triglav, is the go-to place when exploring Gorenjska region. The view from the chill out area at the back of our bar offers a sight like none else. You can see the lake Bohinj and the mesmerising sunsets behind the famous bridge in Ribčev Laz, gaze at nearby peaks of Mt. Triglav ((Slovenia's highest mountain) or simply admire the enchanting Sava Bohinjka river flowing in the nearby canal.
Sitting in the shade on the wooden terrace after a long hike in the mountains, cooling down with our own gin tonics, ice cream or a beer after spending some quality time on the beach, listening to live music events, relaxing in our garden or simply tasting some of the local specialities, are just a few of the many great excuses to enter this relaxed and cosy bar on a summer day (or evening).
